The Center for the Study of African American Rhetoric and Public Address and the Sister Circle Writers Group will host the 2020 Academic Writers Retreat and Workshop March 19-21, 2020 at the University of Memphis. Facilitated by Dr. Annette Madlock Gatison, this retreat will offer a space where participants will be free to not only think about their own work and scholarship but also to energize and encourage others in doing the work. In addition to giving space to write, the three-day retreat will also offer workshops and discussion panels that address subjects such as writing plans and strategies, the publishing process, developing writing plans and much more.   

The cost of the retreat is $150. However, if you are a contingent faculty member, the cost is $100 and for graduate students, the cost is $75. The cost includes coffee breaks, snacks, and lunch for the three-day retreat. Participants will provide their own transportation, lodging, and additional meals. Lodging is available at the Holiday Inn-University of Memphis located at 3700 Central Ave.
